LEWISVILLE (CBSDFW.COM) - Lewisville Police say a 16-year-old girl will be charged with causing an "accident involving personal injury or death" once she is in custody after the Sunday hit-and-run that killed a 45-year-old man walking on the road.

Police said they got a tip on Tuesday about the suspect's pickup truck located at an apartment complex in the 600 block of Fox Avenue.  Police say they found the teen but she was not taken into custody at the time.

The hit-and-run crash happened Sunday, October 02, around  8:40 p.m. in the right southbound lane of 1600 S SH121 Business.  The pedestrian who was struck was rushed to a hospital where he died a few hours later.

Police say the driver of the pickup stopped for about ten seconds, then took off.

Witness statements and video surveillance from surrounding businesses confirmed the suspect vehicle as a two tone, red over tan or gray, 2004 - 2008 Ford F-150 crew cab pickup truck with tinted windows.

At the scene, Investigators located the oval Ford emblem and red plastic pieces from the front grill assembly.

Video footage also indicated the front right headlight sustained damage.
