DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Cowboys have finally addressed a gaping hole in the middle of their defense as they have come to an agreement with linebacker Justin Durant.

According to the team, the nine-year veteran agreed to a one-year deal. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Durant spent the 2013 and 2014 seasons in Dallas.

With Rolando McClain facing a ten-game suspension for testing positive for substance abuse, Dallas' linebacker corps were looking very thin heading into training camp.

The addition of Durant alleviates that deficit and allows the Cowboys to move forward with their defense, while also adding a leader to the lockeroom. Durant was a captain in 2014. He was the team's leading tackler at linebacker that season before going down with a torn bicep.

He spent last season with the Atlanta Falcons. In 13 games played, he had 82 combined tackles.
