DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - Dallas residents Jordan Spieth and Tony Romo travel in a lot of the same circles - including area golf courses. So it's no surprise that the Masters champion (and avid Cowboys fan) has a friendship with the QB...or that Romo ends up on the losing end of their golf bets.
"Oh man, I don't know," Spieth said, laughing, when asked on Jim Rome's Showtime show how much money the kid has taken from Romo. "He's a good friend and a great competitor, so we have fun out there."
Romo has said he's cut way back from golf for the good of his back. Against other NFL players, when in practice, he's shown himself to be fairly elite. But he's no match for Spieth, who gives him "two or three strokes" a side when they've played.
"The good news is he doesn't swallow his pride and take a lot of strokes," Spieth said, adding, "I'm usually on the winning end of that one."
