DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - There are thousands of Dallas Cowboys fans that are looking forward to Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins where QB Tony Romo is scheduled to return - and the person that is most looking forward to seeing Romo back on the field is none other than owner Jerry Jones.
"We'll be a different out there with Tony Romo" Jones told 105.3 The Fan on his weekly radio show.
Sunday will mark Romo's return after being sidelined since the second game of the season due to a broken collarbone.
In that time, the Cowboys have failed to win a single game under backup QB's Brandon Weeden and Matt Cassel.
"I was trying to have our backup quarterback, a potential starter, I was trying to develop one as well as have the backup QB in Weeden and thought we were in better shape than we were - so that bit us, we'er here where we are" said Jones.
Jones was not shy lamenting the Cowboys 2015 season saying "I'm still frustrated that we have laid the egg that we have over the last 7 ballgames" but later added "things will take care of themselves. Good news, we're gonna be better at quarterback."
The team has been preparing for Romo's return by having him on the sidelines for the last several games. "He's razor sharp relative to his classroom work" said Jones. "He's also moving the ball around good at practice. All of those things make it feel optimistic to me."
