NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The threat of hackers targeting more than 100,000 medical patients who use certain insulin pumps is real, according to Johnson & Johnson.

And the pharmaceutical goods giant is warning patients about it.

The company said there's a cyber security bug in one of the one-touch ping insulin pumps it manufactured.

A hacker could exploit the flaw in its design to overdose diabetic patients with insulin.

However, neither the multinational medical devices manufacturer nor the FDA has said there are any known cases where hackers have exploited cyber vulnerabilities to harm a patient.
