Johnson Admits Responsibility In Shooting, Killing UNT Student

DENTON (CBSDFW.COM) - Denton Police say investigators have interviewed the shooting suspect, Eric Jamal Johnson, in Yuma, Arizona.
Johnson is being held in the Yuma County Detention Center and agreed to speak with the investigators and has cooperated with the investigation, admitting his responsibility in the shooting.
During his interview, police say Johnson expressed sympathy to Sara Mutschlechner's family and her sorority sisters.
Through the course of the investigation, investigators have established there were four passengers with Johnson in his vehicle at the time of Sara's shooting.
Police say all of them have been interviewed and have cooperated with the investigation. None have been charged and they are considered witnesses at this point in the investigation.
Johnson appeared before the Yuma County Justice Court Thursday. At that time, he agreed to waive extradition. He has been cleared for extradition and Denton Police are working with the Denton County Sheriff's Office to transport Johnson back to Denton. It is unknown how long this will take. However, authorities have 10 days to complete the process.
A handgun believed to have been used in the murder was among the items that has been recovered. However, forensic analysis to determine if the firearm was used in the commission of the offense can take a substantial amount of time.
