Jerry Jones Says Romo Wasn't Deactivated In Case Cowboys Make Playoffs

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Jerry Jones called into the GBAG Nation for his weekly appearance on Friday.
During it, Jones confirmed Mike Fisher's report from Wednesday that the Cowboys aren't placing Romo on IR for now while they are still mathematically alive in the NFC playoff hunt.
"If Tony can play, he'd be the starting quarterback without a question." We didn't deactivate Tony for a reason and that is if we should get to the playoffs then he would be available for us in the playoffs," said Jones. "I'm speaking for myself. Jason Garrett, of course, would be the ultimate decision-maker, but one of the reasons we thought using a roster spot is so that he could be available for the playoffs."
Dallas is two games back of the Washington Redskins and the New York Giants in the NFC East. They have two games remaining with Washington and a 2-2 division record.
The hopes of the team now rest on the shoulders of Matt Cassel, who was 0-4 in Tony Romo's absence.
