Jerry Jones On Richard Sherman: 'We Can't Run From Him'
DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) -- Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman is widely considered one of the league's best. But Cowboys owner Jerry Jones made it clear leading into their showdown on Sunday: Dallas must challenge him.
"With all the respect that we have for him, we're gonna have to give him some business over there or we will hurt the balance and what we can do relative to the passing game," said Jones on the G-Bag Nation on 105.3 The Fan. "We can't run from him."

Jerry has seen the impact a shutdown corner can have -- that is, if you avoid his side of the field entirely. Teams once avoided throwing at Hall of Fame corner Deion Sanders, giving the clear advantage to the Dallas defense.
"Deion was such a force for us that people would run from him, and it played right into our hands," said Jones. "We had 10 people on 9 players a lot of times because of Deion Sanders."
Though Sherman is an elite defender, the Cowboys possess a weapon of their own. Dez Bryant has caught touchdowns in each of his last four games. Jones believes that Dez can at least push Sherman.
"We've got to challenge him and make him at least cover 1-on-1, and Dez of course is the guy that could do it. I don't see us compromising the rest of the offense by running from Sherman like that."
