Jerry Jones' Lawyer Responds To Sexual Assault Lawsuit
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A former exotic dancer has filed a lawsuit accusing Dallas Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones of sexual assault in 2009. Jones denies the allegations.
"Someone has misrepresented photos taken at a restaurant five years ago for their own purposes," Jones said when the scandal broke in August. Jones also didn't have much to say then when asked if authorities were handling the matter. "I don't have any more comment about that," he said.
Jones' attorney, Levi McCathern II, released the following statement Tuesday:
"These allegations are completely false. The legal complaint is unsupported by facts or evidence of any kind. This is nothing more than an attempt to embarrass and extort Jerry Jones. This is a shakedown by a lawyer who is a solo practitioner just trying to make a name for himself. The alleged incidents would have been more than five years old.
"We intend to vigorously contest this complaint and expect it will be shown for what it is – a money grab. Due to the seriousness of these baseless allegations, we have also involved law enforcement."
The lawsuit, filed Monday in Dallas County, names Jones and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club as defendants. The legal action stems from a series of racy photos of Jones with Jana Weckerly and another woman, that were released on social media in early August.
The suit alleges Jones committed several crimes, including - "intentionally and knowingly received oral sex from another female while in the presence of Plaintiff," "intentionally, knowingly, and forcibly rubbed and/or grabbed Plaintiff's breasts multiple times," and "forced Plaintiff to touch and/or rub on his penis multiple times."

Although it's unclear if authorities are involved, the man who originally released the photos, Frank Hoover, deleted the pictures from his Twitter page less than a week after posting them. Hoover also deleted the 20-page manifesto he wrote that described the extortion plot against Jones.
In the manifesto, Hoover said that he acquired the pictures in June 2011 and tried to contact Jones several times about the photos, with the most recent attempted contact in October 2013.
The two women in the photos are both exotic dancers. In an interview with TMZ, the women said that they've both hired lawyers and that they don't really remember the night because 'there was a lot of alcohol involved.'
The women also claim that they had no idea the pictures were being taken, even though they seem to be looking at the camera in each shot.
Weckerly is seeking more than $1 million in damages.
