Jace Prescott, Brother Of Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Dak, Dies At 31
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) — Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott's older brother, Jace, passed away Thursday. He was 31.
No cause of the death has been provided.
The Cowboys announced the news in a statement that read, in part -
"The loss of Tad and Dak's brother is devastating. At this incredibly difficult time, the Prescott family asks only for prayers and respect for their privacy."
After the Cowboys wrapped up the first round of the NFL Draft, owner Jerry Jones expressed his condolences to Dak, and the Prescott family.
"Whatever we can do to help him get through this horrible time," he said. "When you are young - Dak is young, and his brother was young - death is really, really hard to understand, or just think about, or live with."
Jace was the middle of three Prescott brothers. Dak is the youngest.
Jones has been in negotiations with Dak Prescott over a potential long term contract for months. The Cowboys owner quickly set aside any thoughts of business, and expressed the priority of emotionally helping his quarterback.
"I have a particular sensitivity with the players who have a tragedy, I just want to forget all the hard stuff, and grab and hold him."
