DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - If you're headed out of town for Labor Day weekend, you'll be glad to know gas prices are still falling. Drivers say the plummeting prices are a lucky break as they fill up for their holiday journeys.

"We're going up to Missouri to see my girlfriend's family," says Trent Cheedle. "It's now costing me 45 dollars to fill up my truck when it cost me almost 70 last month."

Other folks plan to see family or spend their holiday golfing. But they all say they're paying between 20 and 30 dollars less to fill up lately.

Average gas prices across Dallas are about $2.13 and in Fort Worth they're around $2.10.

It's all to do with the high oil supply and low demand, which sends crude oil prices down and gives us that break at the pump.

"These gas prices are nothing short of a blessing," says Ronnie Miller. "I hope they stay around awhile."

Experts say prices could continue to drop as the year goes on.
