DALLAS (AP) — A North Texas teenager will be sentenced to prison next month for forcing four underage girls to act as prostitutes and for having one of them, a 12-year-old, engage in sex with a man for $50.

Federal prosecutors say 19-year-old Luis Rivera of Irving pleaded guilty in October to conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of children.

Prosecutors say Rivera and another teen met the girls in late 2014 and took them to an apartment where they were told they needed to have sex with men to earn money for food.

Thirty-three-year-old Marco Antonio Rodriguez-Mejia of Irving was contacted and agreed to have sex with the 12-year-old.

He was convicted of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of children and other charges and was sentenced Friday to more than 24 years.
