IRVING (CBSDFW) - A former Irving ISD teacher is under arrest for having sex with a student, according to police.
Police say 60-year-old Farley Simon, a junior ROTC teacher at Irving High School, was involved with a 17 year old student.
Byron Keyes with police says they were made aware of the relationship when the victim's mother came to them after finding some texts on her daughters phone.
"It happened between December 2015 and January 2016," said Keyes.
One affidavit says the girl had pictures and texts on her phone of them having sex in a Best Western back in January.
A second affidavit claims that over Christmas break Simon took the girl to Luzon Park and they had sex there.
Irving ISD was first informed by the girl's mother that she thought a teacher was having an inappropriate relationship with her daughter. Police say at this point it doesn't look as though Simon was involved with any other students.
The school district said it is reassuring families the district took immediate and appropriate action and point out -- being on administrative leave prevents the teacher from working with students and being present on any Irving ISD property.
Simon was arrested last week on two charges of Improper Relationship with a student, but has bonded out of jail.
Police say at this point it doesn't look as though Simon was involved with any other students.
"There were two charges of improper relationship with a student and a bond of $25,000 on each." Keyes said.
Simon has been placed on administrative leave.
