Irvine, CA Police Capture Texas Man Suspected Of Murder

IRVINE (CBSDFW.com) — Police were in pursuit of a vehicle traveling at high speeds through Orange County Monday.

Police say the suspect was wanted for a murder in Texas.

The suspect in the vehicle, a silver Mercedes, was not complying with commands as he attempted to evade police on the I-5 freeway.

At least four marked units of the Buena Park Police Department were in pursuit.

After transitioning to the CA-91 eastbound freeway, the suspect then exited and took to surface streets in Orange County.

The suspect, a male, came to a stop at the intersection of Barranca Parkway and Armstrong Avenue in Irvine. He exited his vehicle at 6:23 p.m., at which point he appeared to be complying with police instructions. The suspect then laid down on his stomach, and was taken into custody at 6:27 p.m.
