Texas Tech Beats Iowa State 34-31 On Late TD

DALLAS (AP) — Nic Moore scored 22 points, Keith Frazier added a career-high 17 and No. 22 SMU bounced back from a pair of losses on the road to beat Eastern Washington 77-68 Saturday night.

A former Dallas high school standout who was the first big recruit for Hall of Fame coach Larry Brown with the Mustangs, Frazier scored seven straight SMU points early in the second half to help build a 13-point lead.

The Mustangs (2-2) were coming off road losses to No. 13 Gonzaga and Indiana that were likely to drop them out of the Top 25. It was the first of seven straight games at renovated Moody Coliseum, where SMU is 14-1 since it reopened last season.

Tyler Harvey scored 24 points to lead Eastern Washington (3-1).

After Ben Moore opened the second half with a layup, Frazier had a breakaway bucket and a jumper to surpass his previous career high of 11 points. He reached his old mark four times, including his debut as a freshman a year ago and the season opener this month.

Frazier, who was 7 of 8 from the field, finished his seven-point spurt with a 3-pointer that gave the Mustangs a 52-39 lead.

Eastern Washington was competitive well into the final minutes of the first meeting between the schools after the Eagles won their first three games by a combined 110 points.

Harvey, the Eagles' leading scorer, struggled in the first half before making his first five shots after halftime.

After consecutive 3-pointers by Harvey pulled Eastern Washington within five in the final 2 minutes, Moore made two free throws and got a steal after Drew Brandon grabbed an offensive rebound on a 3-pointer from Harvey that barely touched the rim.

Venky Jois had 13 points, 10 rebounds and a game-high three steals for Eastern Washington.
