Inside? Outside? How Are You Spending This "Snow" Day?

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - As school districts started making the call late Sunday night to close campuses for Monday, you could hear collective cheers across North Texas.

It's the first snow day of the season and even though there is more ice than snow on the ground, school aged kids made the most of the white wintery mix that accumulated early this morning.

We asked you on the CBSDFW Facebook page how you planned to spend the day and received a flurry of responses.

Many people wasted no time getting outside Monday morning to take advantage of mother nature's gift.

Sandra Varela Garcia posted this picture of her family saying they were "Playing outside! Making memories!"

Despite the weather, Brad Schweig brought out the grill. He posted this picture, saying, "It's never to cold for BBQ Chicken."

Several CBSDFW viewers shared pictures of their dogs enjoying the weather, including Longhui Zhang whoe wrote, "My husky has her first time ever snow day."

More than a few kids took advantage of the slick streets and driveways to do a little slipping and sliding, like 9-year-old Callan Tyran.

 

 

For others, stepping outside was not an option. Robye Schaffer shared this photo of her warm breakfast and her plans for the day, "Biscuits and gravy and working from home!"
