ROANOKE (CBSDFW.COM) — A car struck and killed a husband who had come to his wife's aid after her car broke down Saturday morning, police say.

The Haslet man, 57-year-old Richard Perrin, was standing behind his wife's broken-down car at 3300 Highway 170 eastbound when an oncoming car hit him, Keller Police Capt. Thomas Simmons said. Perrin died at the scene.

Police say the couple's children were in the family's car at the time of the incident.
