HOUSTON (AP) — Investigators are trying to determine who fatally shot a Houston-area man whose body was found by his wife using an iPhone app.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office says the body was located early Thursday in a ditch near a wooded area.

Carla Melendez told KTRK-TV that she tracked the cellphone of 23-year-old Ramon Acosta by using her phone and an app linking the devices.

Melendez says the app showed her husband's phone was near some trees and she couldn't figure out what he'd be doing in that area. The wife drove to the site and found Acosta's body in north Harris County.

Nobody has been arrested. Investigators are seeking a motive for the slaying.
