DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) — A deadly car accident today took the life of a man - and left a woman seriously injured. Even worse, Dallas Police say it was all because of a driver who wouldn't stop after a minor fender bender.
A white Chevy Tahoe hit a car at the intersection of Royal Lane and Harry Hines Blvd. Instead of stopping and exchanging insurance information, the driver in the Tahoe sped through a red light; hitting another car before flipping and smashing into a pole. He died at the scene.
The driver in the car hit by the Tahoe was rushed to the hospital. It appears that her injuries are not life-threatening.
Rajiv Manai, the owner of a fragrance store near the intersection where accident took place tells CBS 11 that as soon as he heard the crash, he ran outside to help. Manai believes that had the reckless driver's Tahoe not hit the pole, the truck would have careened into his store, probably causing even more injuries to others.
