Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in North Texas
NORTH TEXAS — September 15 marks the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month. The month-long celebration spans 30 days from September 15 until October 15. It is an opportunity to recognize, celebrate and learn more about community culture. Here are a few events to attend in North Texas this month.
Lowrider Art Exhibit
Sept. 7 - Nov. 24, Open Wednesday - Sunday from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m.
This art exhibit at Visit Zona 7 Gallery in Downtown Fort Worth contains works to provide varying perspectives on Lowrider and Chicano cultures. The exhibit includes works on paper, photography, and traditional gold leaf and pinstriping.
Soldaderas to Amazonas: Escaramuzas Charras
Exhibit closes May 11, 2025
The Cowgirl Museum in Fort Worth has never hosted an exhibition exclusively focusing on any aspect of charrería. The exhibition consists of two complementing, connecting galleries of the Adelita-inspired dresses for which Escaramuza Charra are known, and a series of portraits.
10th Annual Oak Cliff Flamenco Festival

This free event is hosted by Cara Mía Theatre in Dallas with a performance from ASYC El Teatro de Movimiento's Dance Production from Mexico City, Mexico. This performance is in Spanish.

Performing Arts Fort Worth presents Mariachi Herencia de Mexico at Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth. Listen to traditional mariachi music from an award winning group.
Fort Worth Movies that Matter: The Real Cost
Oct. 10, 7 p.m.
Fort Worth Movies That Matter's film series begins with a screening and is followed by moderated discussion with local subject matter experts. This screening will be held at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
A Skin Poem for a Cosy House

Presented by the Cara Mía Theatre in Dallas, this production features Escultores del Aire's Dance Production from Barcelona, Spain. There are no words spoken through this production.
Amal
Oct. 11 - 12
Presented by the Cara Mia Theatre in Dallas, this production features Combat Hippies' Theatre/ Music Production from Miami, Florida and San Juan, Puerto Rico. This performance is in English with some Spanish.
Celebra
Oct. 12, 2 p.m. - 7 p.m.
The Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau is hosting a family-friendly event at Peace Plaza in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. There will be food, performances and exhibits.
Collin County Hispanic Heritage Festival
Oct. 12, 2 p.m. - 8 p.m.
This will be the 3rd Annual Hispanic Heritage Festival in Collin County filled with food, music and family activities.

Cara Mía Theatre, The Flame Foundation, The New Orleans Original BuckShop, and Mulato Teatro from Ticumán, Morelos, Mexico present A New Dance Theatre Work-In-Progress.
