Heat and humidity persist in North Texas, rain chances diminish

NORTH TEXAS – Tuesday and next Monday are the coolest days in our extended forecast at 91 degrees. Yikes.

Heat indices could max out at 103 later this week. Find a pool again!

Off the coast of South Carolina, Potential Storm Eight is now unlikely to form, but will probably just make landfall as a Depression sometime this evening through tomorrow.

As for our upper-level pattern, things are getting away from us, as the troughs are trending northward over the central plains. Kansas and Oklahoma look like the spots to be.

We still might see a stray rain chance late weekend into early next week, but it doesn't look great at this point. Fingers crossed for a change in the model guidance!

We're ready for October and those first fall, strong cold fronts! Just get us to the state fair and red river showdown!

For now, September heat is not going out without a fight.

Have a great evening!
