DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - After almost nine years since the last story was released, J.K. Rowling is bringing Harry Potter back to print.

The eighth story in the Harry Potter franchise, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, will be published on July 31st according to Scholastic, who made the announcement today in a press release.

In July of 2015, J.K. Rowling announced that Harry Potter's story would continue on stage in London this year. The story will pick up 19 years after the Battle of Hogwarts, which took place in Rowling's final Potter book known as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. The book allows fans to read the script instead of having to travel to London to see the play.

"Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts I & II" by Jack Thorne is a play based on an original story by J.K. Rowling, Thorne and John Tiffany that follows Harry as an employee of the Ministry of Magic, husband and father of three kids, the youngest of whom, Albus, struggles with the "weight of a family legacy he never wanted," said Scholastic.

The play will open at London's Palace Theatre this summer.
