Gruesome Photos & Shocking Testimony In Murder Trial Of Keller Wife

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – Prosecutors in Fort Worth are painting an ugly picture of a Keller woman accused of murdering her husband in 2011.

Tuesday was the first day of the Michele Williams murder trail and by afternoon rush hour testimony was still going on.

During testimony jurors saw gruesome crime scene photos for the first time, but the most shocking details came from Michele Williams' son, Andrew O'Brien.

O'Brien recalled the events as told to him by his mother. "She says she heard a loud gunshot and ran into the room and at that time whoever had gotten into the house had hit her on the face and ran out the door."

O'Brien told the court that initially he wanted to believe his mother. "She was crying and she was tearing up a lot."

The eldest child of Michele Williams is an Army veteran who has done tours in Iraq. One might think O'Brien was in court testifying for his mother, but he was a witness for the prosecution.

After some time on the stand he said, "Michele had asked me to call some friends and have them frame Kathy."

O'Brien said that just days after the shooting, Williams had the idea of framing the death on her husband's ex-wife, Kathy Williams.

He said he was told to, "…call some friends [and] tell them to pick up an extra large sweater. Go somewhere and fire a pistol, so that the gunpowder residue would get on the sweater. Break into Kathy's car."

Prosecutors say Williams was greedy spouse who killed her husband for the insurance money.

Tarrant County Deputy Chief District Attorney Jack Strickland emotionally told the jury, "The motive was money, tried and true. Age-old money. Greed!"

Defense attorneys for Michele Williams say Greg Williams committed suicide. Lawyer Clay Graham told the jury that his client, "…acted to protect her child, Makala, because she could not protect Greg from himself. Greg Williams was living a lie and the biggest lie he was telling was to himself."

Michele Williams has changed her story several times. She first told police that an intruder killed her husband. Later she said he had committed suicide.

Michele Williams had been working on a plea agreement with the district attorney's office. She was considering admitting to Deadly Conduct and Tampering with Evidence charges, crimes that would have had her serve 18 years in prison.  The plea agreement became moot when she changed her plea to not guilty. The 45-year-old mother of four now faces life in prison.
