Griffin Inactive For Washington In Monday Night Game Vs Cowboys

ARLINGTON, Texas (105.3 THE FAN/AP) - Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III has been ruled inactive for the Monday night match-up against the Dallas Cowboys clearing the way for Colt McCoy to to lead the Redskins on his return to Texas.

Griffin has been sidelined since Week 2 with a dislocated ankle.

Colt McCoy is set for his first NFL start in almost three years at the site of the former Longhorns star's final college game in his home state.

McCoy replaced Kirk Cousins at halftime in Week 7 and led a comeback win over Tennessee.

Rookie linebacker Trent Murphy will get his first start for the Redskins in place of Brian Orakpo, out for the season after tearing a pectoral muscle against the Titans.

Inactive for the Redskins:  Safety Jamarca Sanford, WR Aldrick Robonson, CB Greg Ducre, LB Jackson Jeffcoat, Guard Spencer Long, Tackle Tyler Polumbus, DE Clifton Geathers.

Other Cowboys inactives include: QB Dustin Vaughan, Safety Jakar Hamilton, LB Keith Smith, DE Jack Crawford,  DT Davon Coleman, Tackle Donald Hawkins, Tackle Doug Free.
