Great Britain's Paul Bonhomme Wins Red Bull Air Race Fort Worth

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) — Great Britain's Paul Bonhomme won his fourth Red Bull Air Race World Championship victory this year at Texas Motor Speedway.
The Texas stop is the seventh round of the eight-stop world championship for the 2015 schedule, according to the press release. Fourteen race pilots competed throughout the weekend on a 1 1/2-mile, low-level aerial track made up of 80-feet-high, air-filled pylons, hitting speeds up to 230 mph with forces up to 10 Gs.
Bonhomme beat his primary competition, Australia's Matt Hall, by 0.767 seconds in Sunday's final round. This win bumps Bonhomme's lead to eight points over Hall and puts him in prime position to finish in first place after the final 2015 race on Oct. 17 and 18 in Las Vegas.
The Red Bull Air Race World Championship is in its eighth season. This was the second Red Bull Air Race World Championship event at Texas Motor Speedway. More than 30,000 spectators attended over the course of the two-day event.
