GRAND PRAIRIE (CBSDFW.COM) - Authorities in Grand Prairie have arrested a grandmother after she allegedly left a 2-year-old girl in a hot car last Wednesday.

Maritza Charles told responding officers that she was shopping near Highway 360 and Camp Wisdom Road when she forgot about the little girl.

A nearby store employee came out and performed CPR to help revive the child, who was then rushed to the hospital where she remained in critical condition for several days. The girl ultimately made a full recovery.
