GRAND PRAIRIE (CBSDFW.COM) - A doctor's appointment turned into a surprise birthday party for a woman lauded as a great supporter of police for decades.

Surrounded by doctors, Grand Prairie police spokesman Det. Lyle Gensler and friends, Mattie Hamiliton a.k.a. 'Ms. Mattie' smiled as they wished her happy birthday. She turned 103.

"I don't know, but the lord is seeing fit to what I did and didn't do," said Ms. Mattie at the party.

Ms. Mattie has shown up to numerous police events to show her support and love for peace officers in the city. She has also contributed financially throughout the years to Grand Prairie police.

Gensler came to her party to thank her for her steadfast support in person.
