FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Governor Greg Abbott was in Fort Worth Sunday to sign copies of his new book, "Broken But Unbowed" and weighed in on the debate regarding Fort Worth ISD's transgender guidelines.

"It's completely unconstitutional and it's actually an issue that involves what I write about in my book," said Gov. Abbott. "How the President has turned the Constitution on its head. The President cannot write laws. That's up to Congress. Congress has rejected the very law that the President is trying to impose on the people."

Lt. Governor Dan Patrick had called for the district's superintendent Dr. Kent Scribner to step down.
