Garland Fire Chief Retiring After 36 Years Of Service

GARLAND (CBSDFW.COM) -  Garland Fire Chief Raymond Knight is retiring July 22 after 36 years with the department.

Chief Knight began his career in Garland as a firefighter in 1980. According to a City of Garland news release, during the next 20 years, Knight was promoted to Operations Fire Lieutenant, Operations Fire Captain, Administration Battalion Chief and Administration Assistant Fire Chief.

He became Garland's Fire Chief in 2012.

A Passing of Command Ceremony for Fire Chief Mark E. Lee, who most currently served as chief of the Murphy Fire Department, happens July 20.
