Gallo Among Next Wave Of Rangers To Be Recalled

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Texas Rangers have recalled infielder Joey Gallo and outfielder Jared Hoying, while activating reliever Tanner Scheppers from the 60-day DL.

Gallo hit 25 home runs in 102 games for Triple-A Round Rock this season. Gallo likely won't see much playing time with Texas down the stretch. He'll probably get a chance to play a game here and there, but he'll mostly be relegated to pinch hitting duty.

Gallo hit 25 home runs in 102 games for Triple-A Round Rock this season, but he also struck out 150 times in 433 plate appearances.

In six games with the Rangers this season, Gallo went 1 for 15 with a solo home run and nine strikeouts.
