Frisco Mom Says She's Hurting After Son's Death
FRISCO (CBSDFW.COM) - For the first time since her arrest, a Frisco mother accused of killing her ten-year-old son spoke publicly.
Wednesday at a vigil attended by more than a hundred people in front of the Dhawan's Frisco home, Pallavi Dhawan said she is hurting like any mother would be after the death of her son, Arnav.
"I miss him," she said fighting back tears. "He's my little boy."
With her husband by her side, Dhawan's attorney told CBS11 News she could not answer questions about the case.
Dhawan faces a murder charge, however; the Dhawan family said Arnav died from a medical condition.
Officers found the boy a week ago wrapped in a cloth in a bathtub at the family's Frisco home two days after investigators said it appears the boy died.
The family's attorney said she didn't notify authorities right away because she wanted to wait for her husband who was out of town.
Dhawan said Wednesday she's been too busy grieving to worry about those who don't believe her.
"When you lose a child, you lose a child," she said. "You really don't have time for those things."
Many at the vigil said they believe Pallavi did nothing wrong and the pending toxicology report will soon prove that to others.
Arnav's father, Sumeet Dhawan said he was grateful for the support and asked others to withhold judgment until the medical examiner rules a cause of death
"Put yourself in our shoes," said the Frisco father. "Everyone is a parent. Everyone is a father, husband, mother. That's all I'm asking."
