Frisco Kids Pitch Inventions - Shark Tank Style

FRISCO (CBSDFW.COM) - Mark Cuban wasn't in the room, but several Frisco students recently got a chance to pitch products -- Shark Tank style.

From unusual headwear to innovative apps to something called a quad quencher, the students gave their best pitch to local investors looking for the next big thing.

The Young Entrepreneurs Academy gives students, aged 11 to 18, a chance to pitch everything from a mobile makeup service to a hands free umbrella.

Jatin Kumar explained how he came up with the umbrella idea.

"When I lived in the United Kingdom, I noticed that people were struggling with their shopping and umbrellas," said Kumar.

While the students may or may not have the next breakthrough business, they are not shy about showing off their ideas.

The winner gets the start up money they need to prove their pitch lives up to its promise.
