COLLIN COUNTY (CBS 11 SPORTS) - Carter Blunt had every right to complain when he was informed that he would have to change high schools due to rezoning in the Frisco Independent School District.

Instead of complaining about leaving Frisco Heritage High School, Blunt made history as a Junior cross country and track team member at Frisco Independence High School.

Blunt is the first individual in the state of Texas to win back-to-back championships for two different schools. "I didn't know I was the first person to be a state champ at two different schools until the state [cross country] meet. Once I found out that, I was pretty excited."

He defended his boys cross country championship earlier this year, winning the title at Frisco Heritage in 2013 and at Frisco Independence HS this year.

Now, Carter hopes to defend his titles in both the 1600 and 3200 races at the state meet in Austin this week.
