COLLIN COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) - Imagine you're a high school athlete and you're preparing to run out and play on the same turf as the Dallas Cowboys! That's a reality for students in Frisco this fall.

The Cowboys will be using the Ford Center as a practice facility, but the facility will function as a multi-use event center for the Frisco Independent School District.

According to Frisco ISD Superintendent Dr. Jeremy Lyon, the school district paid no money to the Cowboys for the stadium, which is actually owned by the City of Frisco. As it stands, the Frisco ISD has an agreement to use it for the "years to come."

Dr. Lyons said there would be no annual maintenance costs for the district and all ticket revenue for school events will go to support FISD programs.

This afternoon Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and his son will join Dr. Lyons to give a guided tour of the Ford Center at The Star.
