FRISCO(CBSDFW.COM) - A North Texas family got an amazing surprise after enduring some hardship.
Kat and Thomas Marr of Sachse have 11 kids, two with special needs. After getting into an accident they had to buy another van. But this morning the Chairman/CEO and President of AutoNation tore up the finance contract for the van the family just purchased.
"Not only is that van for free," said Mike Jackson, "This van here is yours also for free from AutoNation Ford Frisco!"
A 15-seat van. Perfect.
"I'm blown away God is so good. AutoNation has really blessed our family," says Kat Marr.
This giveaway Thursday was a milestone for AutoNation on a national level, too. The company has sold 10 million vehicles.
"The moment is very emotional for us as a company having achieved something no one has done before, 10 million and to be able to share with a wonderful family," says Jackson.
"Oh my gosh never in a million years would I have dreamed for something like this," says Thomas Marr.
"We've never had a new car," says Kat Marr.
And they got it just in time as the Marrs are in the process of adopting another child.
"This (getting these new vans) is a dream that would be an impossibility for my family," says Thomas Marr.
The Marrs say their first trip will be to the zoo and the big bonus is they'll all be able to fit in the same van.
