Fried Circuit Board Causes Communication Headache At DFW Airport

DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - A circuit board burned out on the wrong computer at DFW International Airport today, causing the communications system to drop out.
According to the FAA, several frequencies were knocked off-line and the control tower at DFW Airport which forces them to switch to a backup plan today after the circuit board fried.
American Airlines says 4 of its flights and 5 American Eagle planes had to be diverted to other airports and refueled while the problem was fixed.
Retired pilot Denny Kelly says switching to a backup isn't a huge problem, but it can mess up the airlines' schedule for up to four hours.
A spokesperson for DFW Aiport says things are back to normal now.
