Free TV, Movie Streaming For All American Airlines Passengers

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Good new for airlines passengers who travel on American Airlines, in-flight boredom may not be an issue the next time you.

Fort Worth-based American is now offering complimentary movies, TV shows, music and games for all passengers, including those flying coach. Starting this month passengers will have unrestricted access to the entertainment on domestic flights offering seatback entertainment. Those systems are currently on some 300 American planes.

Until now, passengers on American could watch limited programming for free, but premium shows and movies were offered at a cost of up to $8.

Officials with American say their passengers will now "have unrestricted access to the best and largest content library among the U.S. carriers."

On flights without seatback monitors, passengers will be able to stream TV, movies and music for free on their own devices via Wi-Fi.
