Free Synthetic Drugs Forum Being Held In Plano
MCKINNEY, Texas (1080 KRLD) - Parents in McKinney just want to know how three local teenagers got their hands on what's believed to be called 'N-bombs', which has been identified as a synthetic form of LSD.
According to reports, the drug can be ingested in a liquid form, powder, a tablet, on blotter paper or it can be taken with Sweet-Tart candy.
But while law enforcement officials are still investigating these most recent cases, some families are taking a stand on understand and educating people about the dangers of these drugs.
Carrie Stevens with the Collin County Substance Abuse Coalition says parents and teens need to know what's really going on with these drugs and that they have potential to be deadly.
This Saturday from 8:30 a.m to 12:00 p.m. you can learn about these drugs at a free forum titled, "Be Aware, Substance Use And Its Impact On Your Family".
Police will show examples of what to look out for and will offer information about drug paraphernalia and other signs that point to use and/or abuse.
Guest speakers will also discuss current trends in substance abuse including a mock bedroom for demonstration on where students may hide the drugs.
The forum is free and open to the public at the Collin College Spring Creek Campus in Plano in the Living Legend Conference Center.
