FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – First responders are very familiar with the intersection of Weatherford and Henderson street.

"This has become, over the last three years the highest frequency intersection for car crashes that result in injuries." says Matt Zavadsky of MedStar.

In the past few years first responders treated injuries in more than two dozen crashes here. Sometimes one right after another.

Hassan Jawad who works near intersection remarks, "While the police were clearing one accident, maybe after 20 or 30 minutes, another accident happened at the same spot!"

A traffic safety task force is compiling the most dangerous places for drivers in Fort Worth and looked for the most dangerous places so they can try to make them safer.

By far the worst area for injury wrecks is a stretch of east bound I-30 at East Chase Parkway. The study shows that highways with short access ramps or construction have the most wrecks. But it's up to the state to correct.

The task force reports to a Fort Worth coalition, and it's seeing plenty that the city can fix at intersections like Rosedale and University.

Matt Zavadsky says, "If you notice this intersection has a lot of distractions. And part of those distractions lead to people not to be paying attention to the car in front of him or cross traffic or the traffic light."

Zavadsky is heading up the task force which is part of a bigger coalition of agencies trying to make the city of Fort Worth safer. The task force looked at the most dangerous intersections and highways and found the places pedestrians are most at risk of being hit by cars or bikes.

Now, They'll take the studies to the Fort Worth safety coalition to brain storm ideas to try to answer one big question.
