Fort Worth Train Hits 18-Wheeler, 3 People Injured

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Injuries were reported after a a train crashed into an 18-wheeler in Fort Worth.

The accident happened just after 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of West Jessamine and Main Street.

The trucker was allegedly trying to cross the railroad tracks to get to an area to have his truck weighed. Unable to stop, the locomotive engine hit the semi, cutting the trailer on the big rig in two. A witness at the scene speculated the semi's landing gear may have gotten stuck on the tracks.

MedStar ground ambulance responded to the scene and treated three people for minor injuries.

Investigators are still trying to determine what caused the crash.
