Forney Car Stolen With Children In Backseat Found In Terrell

NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) — A car that was stolen with two children in the backseat in Forney on Saturday ended up in Terrell, about 10 miles away, officials say.

Terrell police officers found the two children, ages 5 and 6, after someone reported them walking on the shoulder of State Highway 34 in their pajamas, the department said. Officers found the car parked, unoccupied and with the engine running at a Starbucks at 1620 S. SH-34, in the area where the children were walking.

The children were unharmed. The 36-year-old mother, who was reunited with her kids, and the two children are all Forney residents, police say.

Police are searching for the suspect.

Terrell and Forney police are working together on the investigation.
