Former Rangers Manager Ron Washington To Break Silence On Resignation

DALLAS, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) - Former Texas Rangers Manager Ron Washington is scheduled to hold a Thursday afternoon press conference to address the media on his recent resignation as manager of the team.

The notification came Thursday morning from Washington's press agent.

Washington resigned suddenly and without notice on Friday September 5th after 7-years as manager of the Rangers.

105.3 The Fan and CBSDFW.COM will carry the presser today at 1:30pm.

In statement released by the club, Washington indicated the reason for his departure was to address an "off-the-field personal matter" and that his decision to leave was "in no way related to the disappointing performance of the team this season."

Since Washington left, the Rangers have been on the longest winning streak of the season - winning  5 games in a row under new manager Tim Bogar.
