Former QB Theismann Thinks Romo Should Walk Away From Football, While He Still Can

DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - Former Washington Redskins great Joe Theismann has a strong opinion about Tony Romo's latest injury.
Theismann, a two-time Pro-bowl quarterback, played in his share of Cowboys vs Redskins games over his twelve season with Washington.
Having suffered a career ending injury himself in 1985, Theismann thinks Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo should retire after his latest injury.
"Lots of guys leave this game without a (Super Bowl) ring - that's not the whole thing" Theismann told 105.3 The Fan's Shan & RJ show. "You want to be able to walk away from the game. I think in Tony's case we're just talking about his back, but how fragile is that shoulder still?"
Theismann thinks another Romo injury may be just on the horizon following his multi-game absence from the 2015 season, saying "If he comes back, he's going to land on it (shoulder)"
Theismann thinks Romo shouldn't return to playing following his latest surgery to repair a broken back that has sidelined him again since preseason. "I care for him as a guy that I don't want to see have something happen to his back so that he can't enjoy the rest of his life" said Theismann.
"I care a lot about Tony Romo the man, the father, the husband" said Theismann. "He's established himself, he has nothing to prove down in Dallas."
