Former Dallas Cowboy Robert Newhouse Dies At 64

NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Former Dallas Cowboy Robert Newhouse, a standout talent from the team's golden era, has died.

Newhouse was a star fullback who was drafted by the Cowboys in 1972.

He went on to play 12 seasons with the team, but is perhaps best remembered by fans for his 44-inch thighs and the 29-yard touchdown pass he threw during the Cowboys' Super Bowl win over the Denver Broncos. Newhouse is also remembered for throwing a touchdown pass to Golden Richards in the Cowboys Super Bowl XII victory over the Denver Broncos.

Nicknamed "the human bowling ball," Robert Newhouse died Tuesday of heart disease.

He was 64.
