IRVING (105.3 THE FAN) - It is the 'Least Surprising Sports Story of The Year,' Troy Aikman is doing something right. Again.

"I'm going to be 50 in November – I have a hard time saying that," Aikman said last week as part of an announcement that he's donating $1 million to the United Way. "I'm looking to build something that will have impact after I'm gone.''

Aikman's career as a Cowboys Hall-of-Fame quarterback was marked by unselfishness. It stands to reason that as he raises his family in his adopted hometown, his post-football career would be marked by the same trait.

"This is home for me,'' Aikman said. "My motivation is real simple: I want the community of North Texas to know that philanthropically, I'm still giving back."
