Former Collin St Bakery Exec Faces Sentencing

DALLAS, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) - The former controller of Corsicana's Collin St Bakery faces sentencing today after he pled guilty to embezzling $16 million from the famed Texas fruitcake company over a course of 9 years

Sandy Jenkins was charged with money laundering, mail fraud and lying to financial institutions. He faces a combined total of 60-years in federal prison and close to $3 million in fines.

 

The former executive is accused of writing almost 900 fraudulent checks on the bakery account from 2005 through June 2013.

Jenkins and his wife Kay, who is also facing federal charges, used the money to bankroll a luxury lifestyle spending huge amounts on jewelry, expensive wines and a vacation home in Santa Fe.
