Shooting Kills Woman In Flower Mound Home

FLOWER MOUND (CBSDFW.COM) - A woman died early Thursday morning after being shot inside of her Flower Mound home allegedly by her estranged husband. Police were called to the 3300 block of Heather Glen Drive at around 12:20 a.m. after a 911 call by the woman's 16-year-old son.

Authorities arrived to find the 50-year-old victim Aide Fink on the first floor of the two-story home with multiple gunshot wounds. She was taken to a nearby hospital, but she later died.

According to law enforcement officials, three children -- ranging in ages from 7 to 16 -- were also inside of the home at the time of the shooting, but they did not witness anything. The children are now in the care of Child Protective Services. The victim was their mother. "They're safe," said Capt. Richard Brooks at the scene.

The Flower Mound Police Department arrested and charged Daniel Fink with the murder.

According to police, there is no reason for residents of Flower Mound to be concerned about their own safety.

Authorities remained at the scene early Thursday morning, waiting for a search warrant so that they could go inside of the home and begin looking for evidence. Investigators finally entered the home to being their search more than six hours after the shooting took place. "The investigation is in the very early stages," Brooks confirmed.

Police did tow a Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder away from the scene early Thursday afternoon.

"You just feel shock when you wake up and a neighbor you've known for several years, a good family, is not a family anymore," said neighbor Brian Freed.
