FLOWER MOUND (CBSDFW.COM) - Police have arrested the driver that was involved in a hit-and-run last month.

46-year-old Richard Gledhill was at the Gloria's on Justin Road back on October 14th when police say he jumped a curb and slammed into two women that were sitting on a park bench.

Flower Mound Police Captain Wes Griffin says Gledhill initially stopped, but fled the scene when no one was looking.

"You can see on the video he actually gets out of the car, gets back into the car, and backs into the parking spot," said Griffin. "When the manager at the restaurant goes back inside, and nobody else is outside, he jumped back in his car and left the scene."

Gledhill is now facing a state jail felony charge for failing to stop and provide information after an injury accident.

It took a couple weeks to try and solve the crime because investigators had no view of the car's licence plate, but the clear video that showed the suspect's face led to the tips they needed to identify Gledhill.

Gledhill arranged through his attorney to turn himself in early this morning. His bond has been set at $3,000.

Both women have since recovered from their injuries.
