DALLAS -- On June 12, 2011, the Dallas Mavericks earned the franchise's first and only NBA Title by defeating the Miami Heat.

In honor of this glorious day, let's revisit 5 defining and memorable moments from Game 6 in Miami.

1. Dirk's Emotional Departure

Overwhelmed by emotion as the final horn sounded, Dirk Nowitzki hurdled the seats and retreated to the locker room in tears alone.

He would later return to the court to celebrate with his teammates.

2. Humbled

LeBron James and Dwayne Wade earlier mocked Dirk for playing through sickness in Game 5. It looked like this:

3. Terry Soars

Who led the Mavs in scoring in Game 6 in Miami? It wasn't Dirk Nowitzki...it was Jason Terry, who poured in 27.

Terry wasn't shy about talking trash to the heavily-favored Heat, specifically calling out LeBron before Game 4. He backed it up.

4. Zoned In?

Miami jumped out to an early 20-11 lead in Game 6. Rick Carlisle then made the switch to a zone defense, which baffled the Heat offense.

After earning an NBA title as a player in 1986, Carlisle finally achieved the feat as a head coach.

5. Finals MVP

Dirk started slowly in the first half, but scored 18 points in the second half to help Dallas pull away from the hosts.

He was named the Bill Russell Finals MVP, becoming just the 11th player to be named NBA Finals MVP, NBA MVP, and a 10-time All Star.
