The skies will be lit up in Texas, bigger and better than ever this year - thanks to the all of the spring rain that we've experienced across the state.

"Finally - due to a wet spring, there should be no burn ban" says Mark Hanna with The Insurance Council of Texas.

Fireworks officially go on sale in Texas today, and a record amount is expected to be sold for the upcoming Fourth of July holiday.

Hanna says besides individuals buying fireworks, many cities and towns will bring back displays. However, there is still a danger to surrounding homes and apartments because flying fireworks can often land on rooftops or in backyards - causing fires.

Many officials are still encouraging those who choose to celebrate with fireworks to take extra precautions and to always have an adult and proper equipment (fire extinguisher or bucket of water) nearby to supervise.
